Wedding make up and hair is so tricky, brides always want a look that stands out but never want to stray too far from from their everyday (in most cases).  We are very careful in selecting options for brides, to achieve that ever sought after “me just enhanced” look.

With Ina, she walked in very natural…however chatting with her for a bit…we know we had to push the boundaries.  Well, just check out that pose!  I’m sure she was easy like Sunday morning to shoot!

She scheduled a couple of trials and MIXX fell into one of her team choices.  Pulling off her fake lashes and letting down her hair as soon as her other trial was done, we felt we could do a lot better for Jane!  ;)

Though one of our natural brides, she wanted a little brighter than your average colour, so we custom created a new MIXX lipgloss we’re inclined to call ‘Jane’.  A blend of a light pink as well as a russet tone, we came up with the perfect lipgloss shade for her.  Toning down the lashes and really bringing out her porcelain skin tone with cream and sandy colour eye shimmers, we were able to attain the make up look she envisioned since she was a little girl.  Classy and timeless.  Her hair complemented her make up with a side updo, softened by big curls swept to the side.

Midway during her trial, her sweet mom said forget about it, give your deposit and secure your wedding! LOL!  To quote Jane when she saw her final make up and hair “This was exactly what I was looking for, I would cry but I don’t want to ruin my make up – there – put that in your blog!”

This is why I do what I do, the tight hug from her mom was the best reward as I know I helped make her so happy to see her only daughter look so beautiful.

Her wedding day was executed just as perfectly.  Her girls were so sweet, actually thanking us for being so nice and walking them through their options.  I guess they were expecting the attitude that comes with quite a few in our profession.  Never at MIXX.

Her side swept Do with romantic curls has been the #1 hairstyle for brides in 2011, and I still love it!  Depending on how the bangs are styled, it can work for many face shapes.

We went with very traditional bridal make up, soft contoured eyes and a medium depth lip.  Although many brides prefer a lighter lip, girls it just doesn’t show up in pictures.  However, we are here to please so although we make our recommendations we always give you what you want.

We shot MIXX’s annual creative shoot and through all the sweat it was a blast! On set in the middle of the forest, with over the top wedding gowns we wanted to show how MIXX’s make up and hair stood the test of time and of course, the HEAT.  Our group shot was taken after 5 hours of intense heat exposure and they all still looked FANTASTIC!

Look out for detailed shots of our girls in separate blogs.  To show how amazing our team is, none of these photos have been photoshopped.  Hair and make up looks exactly as it would in real life, very difficult to find nowadays!

She knew exactly what she wanted. Every detail of her look was well thought out and executed.  Nothing was left to chance.  From her extremely romantic gown to her whimsical hair piece, all that was needed was a sweet make up application and elegant hair do.  The rest was all Grace.

The girls were also amazing!  They knew how picky Grace was, so when we showed up all they said is if you’re good enough for Grace you can do whatever you want!  Woot! Woot!  Hint of advise upcoming wedding parties and brides, you’ll come out with a better overall look than when you tie our hands with a million and one instructions.  We love what we do and will always do all we can to bring out the best in you!

Congrats Grace!  We’ll miss ya!
